Abaco Sea

Abaco Sea
Cc. Boyd K Dimmock April 26, 2009

I want to write a poem

About the crystal sea

With words so exquisite

And formed so marvelously

That you can feel the ocean swells

And know the rocky shore

Of these plateau mountain tops

And long to listen more.

See in your imagination’s eye

Glorious colors of reflected light

Dueling blues of the sea and sky

Turquoise, palm green, sparkling white

Shiny shades of pink and red of the setting sun

The eye’s delight with God’s paint brush

Amazing tones of His prism’s palette

Lavishly spent as a gift for us.

Hear the rhythm of beach melodies

And the whistle of the wind’s song

Lyrics about fig trees and sailboats and lobster tails

Attuned to their common life message along

The sound of thunder of a passing squall

The strength and fury of the sea

And the lapping of waves on the bow

Share the lyrics of nature’s story.

I want to write a poem

About the crystal sea

With words so exquisite

And formed so marvelously

My own dear keepsake of Abaco

When time stood still; without measure;

A cherished memory of being alive

And God’s blessing to treasure.
