Today we entered the New York canal system and had a beautiful day. Lunch was a picnic on the back of the boat tied up at the visitor center in Waterford where the river forks to either go to west to the Erie Canal or north to Lake Champlain. At Lock #2, we passed a wonderful old power plant where the river runs under a brick building. We are headed north and today we made it to Mechanicsville where we are leaving the boat to make a quick business trip to Somers, NY.
